Film Wax – The Best of Both Worlds

FILM WAX provides a hybrid treatment that combines elements of hot wax treatments and strip wax treatments with the advantage of less pain and discomfort for the client and the benefit of it being more economical when compared to these other wax treatments.
FILM WAX has two great advantages for me:  less pain so you don’t feel like you are in a torture chamber with a mercenary determined to make you suffer. And, I no longer have to wear long pants and jeans in the hot summer due the unsightly stubble because at the 1mm mark, FILM WAX can get a grip and remove the hair.

But what is this amazing solution to the hair problem?

FILM WAX is a hybrid between a hot wax and a strip wax. Its application is as comfortable as a normal hot wax, but with the lightweight “spread-ability”, and there’s no need for those strips.

FILM WAX application is so clever.  The wax shrink-wraps itself around the hair and this is where the magic lies, it eases the pain substantially. It leaves the skin velvety-touch smooth with none of that irritating sticky residue.

There is another plus, FILM WAX is an economical wax as you only need to apply a very thin layer of it. It can be used for almost all wax treatments and is particularly suited to facial and Brazilian waxes. This is good news. Remember leaving the salon after a Brazilian wax, with your panties sticking to your skin, and you try and walk normally, but can’t help pulling the fabric off your skin while you squirm your way to your car?

Easy-peasy process

  • Place the wax in the heater and turn it on to a high heat setting. Once the wax has melted and become very runny, stir well and reduce the heat by turning the heater down to a moderate to low heat setting. Test the wax on the inside of your wrist to make sure it is at a comfortable temperature. Yes, please remember that, remember that mercenary? If the wax drips when you turn your spatula – it is too hot. If it creates threads, it is too cool.
  • Apply your pre-wax lotion/oil to the area.
  • Film wax is applied in the direction of the hair growth. Load your spatula and spread the wax onto the skin in a very thin layer. Lift the spatula at the end of the movement to leave a thicker layer so that you can grip the wax for removal.
  • The difference between hot wax and film wax application is that hot wax remains on the spatula when applying your figure of eight pattern but film wax is deposited onto the skin before spreading to create a large, thin, even patch.
  • Once the wax has cooled and become firm and no longer sticks to your fingers when you tap it, flick up one of the thicker edges and remove the wax like you would with hot wax.
  • Finish by applying your post-wax lotion/oil.

And your client leaves in comfort and happy.
